They are second in the NBA in defense, allowing 107.8 points per game, while scoring 119.1 per game, fifth in the league. Detroit has the second-best record in the league, but the sixth-best odds to win it all. It is third in point differential (7.7), and like OKC, winning with defense, allowing 109.5 points per game (fourth). Immediate Contenders: Second on the board is Denver. The Nuggets have the best offense in the league (120.5 points per game) and the second-best field-goal percentage (49.3%). How impressive is that? Well, Nikola Jokić has missed 16 games this year and the Nuggets went 10-6 in that span. And seven of those wins came on the road. However, Denver and OKC have faced off twice this season, and OKC is 2-0. Third on the board is San Antonio. The Spurs are just two games behind the Thunder in the loss column, staring at their first playoff berth since the 2018-19 season.
